Special pension


In addition to a work disability pension, the National Insurance (NII) will examine your eligibility for a special monthly assistance for personal care.

Conditions of entitlement to a special pension

You may be entitled to a special pension if you meet one of the following conditions:

  • You have a permanent degree of disability of 75% or above.
  • A Medical Board for general disability established that you have a permanent disability degree at 85% or above, caused by a lesion in paired limbs, provided that the board found that at lease two third of the disability degree stems from a work injury.
  • You have sustained multiple prejudices at work at different times, and you were given a permanent disability for each lesion, then after weighting all these disabilities your have been granted a disability degree of at least 65%.
  • Your disability degree stands between 65% and 74% permanently, and due to one disability you have difficulties to walk (subject to approval by a physician of the NII).
To establish the need for personal care, you will be examined by an assessing nurse who will give an opinion on your eligibility for a special pension.

Pension amount


The amount of the pension is determined in accordance with the level of assistance you need, considering that the maximum amount of the assistance is NIS 9,310 (as of Jan 01, 2024).

Submitting a claim


You can submit a claim for a special grant or for a special pension to the Rehabilitation Department at the NII local branch nearest your place of residence, by means of the form for a special grant/special pension. Detailed plans regarding your intended use of the and all relevant authorizations must be attached to the claim.
